Royalty Readathon Wrap Up

royalty readathon

This readathon ran from the 24th-30th September but I didn’t start the readathon until Monday 25th September because I got the dates confused (again!). I also strayed off my TBR a lot but I tried to hit most of the challenges!

  • Read a book with a hidden royal heritage

And I Darken (The Conqueror's Saga, #1)

It’s a bit tenous but in And I Darken, the main characters don’t know Mehmet is the sultan’s son when they first meet him. So partly hidden royal heritage? Lada and Radu are also royalty, of a sort, but it’s never hidden from them or the reader. I really enjoyed this book anyway and would definitely recommend it.

  • Read a book with a royal title

Red Queen (Red Queen, #1)

  • Read a book with a crown on the cover

Red Queen (Red Queen, #1)
I did this book twice because it fulfilled both challenges and I didn’t manage to get to the other book on my TBR. I loved Red Queen, tropes and all, and I’m definitely picking up the sequel.

  • Read a fairytale retelling featuring your favourite fairytale royal

Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to complete this challenge.

  • Read a purple book

Wicked Like a Wildfire (Hibiscus Daughter, #1)
I was surprised by how much I liked Wicked Like Wildfire because the reviews were mixed to say the least. The book wasn’t what I expected but in a really good way and I’m definitely going to keep a lookout for the next in the series.

This is a readathon I loved to carry out and I would love to do it again if there is another round. Did anyone else take part in this readathon? How did you do? Let me know in the comments!
