Top Ten Characters Who Would Be Great Leaders

This is a weekly blog meme by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is ‘ten characters who would make great leaders’ or are trendsetters. This theme was an interesting one.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter, #5)Harry from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

I have many issues with Harry in this book but I love how he is with the DA and wish that had continued into the Half Blood Prince.

The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet: A Novel (Lizzie Bennet Diaries)Charlotte Lu from The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet

She stays level-headed throughout the videos and the book. She deals with Lizzie and Mr Collins’ dramatics very well and she always have a goal in sight. I love Lizzie’s videos but if I had to pick someone to lead the country, it would be Charlotte.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter, #4)Hermione from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

She’s organised, she’s passionate and she isn’t afraid to confront people. She goes a little overboard with S.P. E.W but she’s fourteen. Hermione being the Minister of Magic is completely unsurprising in every way.

The Diviners (The Diviners, #1)Evie from The Diviners

She may come more under ‘trendsetter’ here but Evie is also a leader, not a follower.

Stillhouse Lake (Stillhouse Lake, #1)Gwen from Stillhouse Lake

If I were stranded on a desert island, I want Gwen to lead me. She’s organised, she’s prepared, she’s adaptable and she’s willing to adjust the plan for new circumstances.

The Woman Who Breathed Two Worlds (Malayan #1)Chye Hoon from The Woman Who Breathed Two Worlds

She raised ten children while running a successful business when women weren’t expected to do much of anything. She sounds like she could have been a harsh critic but she knew how to make things run as efficiently as possible.

Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1)Kaz Brekker from Six of Crows

He leads a group of six misfits by knowing full well what their strengths and weaknesses are and he also managed to earn their loyalty. I would definitely count that as a good leader, even if he’s not necessarily a nice guy.

Nyxia (The Nyxia Triad, #1)Kaya from Nyxia

She may not be the main character, but Kaya was one of those characters who are brave and good-natured and managed to bond everyone in the group together without trying too hard.

The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1)

Gansey from The Raven Cycle

He managed to lead a group of three very different boys and one girl on a quest he started. He got all four of them to care about this dead king, despite the fact that none of them would have batted an eyelid at the quest any other time.

IcePeter and Mona from Ice

Peter is the charismatic leader who makes friends easily while Mona is the practical, organised one of the pair and between the two of them, you could see them being great leaders.

This was an interesting theme for Top Ten Tuesday but surprisingly more difficult than I thought at first glance to get ten examples. Anyone else’s posts match up? Let me know in the comments!
