June Wrap Up

Wow, this was not a good month for reading or for readathons. I didn’t read as much as I would normally and I forgot about the two readathons I was looking forward to the most, not to mention being late for the readalong (though I did get to the book in the end). Real life involved a job interview and a job offer, which is great, but my attention was definitely on that.

However, there were a lot of books I loved this month.

Books I Read

  1. Daisy Jones and the Six
  2. The Shout
  3. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Harry Potter #2)
  4. Bad Luck and Trouble (Jack Reacher #11)
  5. Ivy Aberdeen’s Letter to the World
  6. Misadventures of a Curvy Girl (Misadventures #18)
  7. Rafe
  8. Forever Watching You (D.I. Miranda Carr #1)
  9. The Labours of Hercules (Hercule Poirot #27)
  10. The Miseducation of Cameron Post
  11. You Let Me In
  12. Ayesha Dean – The Istanbul Intrigue
  13. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
  14. Wilde Love (Forever Wilde #6)
  15. The Beholder (The Beholder #1)

Favourite Book of the Month

Well, if we’re including rereads, it would be Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I loved listening to the audiobook and it pulled me in just like it did when I reread it when the illustrated edition came out. However, if we’re not including rereads, I think my favourite book would be Ivy Aberdeen’s Letter to the World, just because this was a really sweet book and it made me cry.

Least Favourite Book of the Month

There were a lot of books where I was disappointed with what they turned out to be like but I didn’t rate any of them lower, just lower than I had expected. However, Forever Watching You was written in a very strange, simplistic way and the villains had to drop an Idiot Ball to even get the book going. Not to mention the Unfortunate Implications in the court scene at the end.

Reading Updates

Like I mentioned above, this was not a good reading month. I did TBRs for a few readathons and then forgot about two of them until far too late, I read one book on my June TBR but that was about it. Not to mention, not reading the ARCs I wanted to get to.

Good things is I’m very track to complete my Goodreads reading challenge of 200 books, since I’m on 138, and I did manage to read the book for the Fairyloot readalong and I was pleasantly surprised by it. I also read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for Jazzy June, which is a little less than I wanted but I’m glad I got to finish one book.

How did everyone else’s June go?

  1. In one month, you read a little more than half of the number of books I read in this whole year 😂. I hope the job interview and offer went well!

    1. I have a big TBR and a long commute 😂 I just didn’t stick to my TBRs very well this month. It went really well, thank you! Just got some paperwork to do and I start my new job 😁
